Student CATS Scholarship Guidelines
Rotary Opens Opportunities
Purpose: Rotary International is a humanitarian service organization which brings together
business and professional leaders in order to provide community service, promote integrity, and
advance goodwill, peace, and understanding in the world. It is a non-political and non-religious
organization. The Rotary Club of Greater Statesville is excited to support CATS students in their quest
for continued training and credentials beyond high school.
Eligibility: Open to senior-level high school students during the 2021-22 school year who
attend a CATS program.
Award: Scholarship awards range from $500 to $1000 and are a one time award paid directly to the
institution. Multiple awards are available depending on the pool of candidates.
Timeline:
- 4/29 Applications due
- 5/10 Approximate date for interview of selected candidates
- 5/25 Awards Ceremony @ CATS 10:30am for scholarship winners
To be eligible, students must:
- Attend a program at the Career Academy & Technical School (CATS), Iredell-Statesville Schools.
- Provide two letters of recommendation. One MUST be from a CATS staff member. One can be from another CATS staff member or someone at your “home” school (teacher, coach, principal, or another staff member of your choice).
- Complete the scholarship application and submit with your student resume’ and other requested documentation. The student resume’ should include work experience, any awards or honors received, any involvement in school organizations, athletics, or community organizations or any volunteer opportunities.
- As part of the application, you are required to answer two questions (see below). Each essay/response should be no longer than 500 words. Please include your first and last name along with your school’s name on the top right-hand corner of the essay.
- In the future, many jobs will require specific skills and often hands-on experiences. Please explain how you think the skills you've acquired at CATS will benefit you as you continue your education.
- Community involvement is very important and most schools and companies believe in. giving back to the community. Please describe your commitment to your community. Share information on things you do and how you “give back” or volunteer in your community.
Application deadline is Friday, April 29, 2022.
The completed scholarship application with all supporting documentation must be received on or before this deadline.

WTS is an international professional organization dedicated to building the future of transportation through the global advancement of women. Each year the Charlotte Metro Chapter of WTS solicits applications for local and national scholarships. All scholarship applications, national or local, must go through a local chapter in order to be considered.
The WTS Charlotte Metro Chapter is currently seeking applications for the 2021-2022 program. For more infor-

The Charlotte Knights and Atrium Health are dedicated to providing educational opportunities to the youth in our communities. In an effort to improve educational funding for high school students who are interested in pursuing a career in healthcare, the Knights and Atrium Health have committed to providing three (3) $1,000 college scholarships to local high school seniors.

Piedmont Gas Scholarship

North Carolina Child Support Council Scholarship
Greetings from the North Carolina Child Support Council Scholarship Committee,
The 2021 NCCSC Scholarship and Bob R. McGuire Memorial Scholarship application is now available. The scholarship is available to all North Carolina residents who have been accepted by a North Carolina school of higher learning: a College, University, Community College, or Technical School. In addition, at least one parent must be a member of the NCCSC, or a client of the Child Support Program (through either Child Support Services or Clerk of Court Services).
The deadline is June 5, 2021.

Rhylee Fielding Memorial Scholarship (Girls on the Run)
For our 3rd annual scholarship, we will be awarding two scholarship in the amount of $2,000 each. The application deadline is April 2, 2021.
Girls on the Run is awarding the 3rd annual Rhylee Fielding Memorial Scholarship to two recipients this year in the amount of $2,000 (per scholarship). Girls who are currently seniors and are college bound may be eligible to apply if she participated in the GOTR program when she was in 3-5th grades or 6-8th grades.

Hickory Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. is a private, non-profit organization whose purpose is to aid and support through established programs in local communities throughout the world. A sisterhood of more than 200,000 predominantly Black college educated women, the Sorority currently has over 900 chapters located in the United States, England, Japan, Germany, the Virgin Islands, Bermuda, the Bahamas, and the Republic of Korea. The major programs of the sorority are based upon the organization’s Five Point Thrust of: Economic Development, Educational Development, International Awareness & Involvement, Physical and Mental Health, and Social Action.
Members of the Hickory Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. look forward to supporting young Black females each year as they graduate from high school and embark on their postsecondary journey. Our organization is sponsoring a scholarship for graduating African American females who will attend a four-year college or university in the summer or fall of 2021.
Applicants should reside in Burke, Caldwell, Catawba, or Iredell county and have an intended major or area of study in Science, Technology, Engineering, Math, or Social Justice (i.e., Pre-Law, Political Science, Social Work, Sociology, Pre-Law, Public Health).
We request your assistance in sharing information about our scholarship with your African American females who will attend a four-year college/university in the summer or fall of 2021. Included is a flier, in pdf and png formats, that may be placed on your website or emailed to students. Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation
The Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation Application for the 2021-22 academic year is now open and will close on March 2, 2021. We’re eager to get the word out to as many Marine Corps families as possible. We would love your help in spreading the word especially to those students who are pursuing Career and Technical Education!
The Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation provides scholarships to eligible children of Marines and Navy Corpsmen, Chaplains, and Religious Program Specialists. Our scholarships are for children pursuing post-secondary education at any accredited school—whether that be a trade school, career training school, community college, or four-year university. We’re the Nation’s oldest and largest provider of need-based scholarships to military families. To give you an idea, this year, we awarded over $8.5 million to more than 2,750 students and nearly 10% were CTE students!
